Who we are
This website (alfarid.co.uk) is run by ALFARID (ST. ALBANS) LTD (company no. 12952227), 26 Holywell Hill, St Albans, Hertfordshire AL1 1BZ, referred to here as "we" or "us". We are the data controller for the personal information you share with us. If you have any questions, email info@alfarid.co.uk.
The information we collect
- When you use our contact or private-hire forms: your name, email, phone number and the details of your enquiry (such as party size, date and any notes). If you tick the marketing box, we record your consent to receive occasional updates.
- When you book a table, our booking partner (Walk Up) collects the details needed to manage your reservation.
- When you browse the site, and only if you accept analytics cookies, anonymised information about how the site is used (see our Cookie Policy).
We don't collect more than we need, and we don't knowingly collect special-category data.
How we use it
- To respond to your enquiries and manage your booking: to take steps at your request and in our legitimate interest in running the restaurant.
- To email you offers and news about Al Farid after you book with us: in our legitimate interest, and only if you leave the box ticked when booking. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.
- To understand and improve the website: only where you have accepted analytics cookies.
Who we share it with
We only share data with the providers that help us run the site, and only as needed. We never sell your data.
- Web3Forms: delivers our form submissions to our inbox.
- Walk Up: our table-booking partner.
- Deliveroo: if you choose to order delivery (governed by Deliveroo's own privacy policy).
- Google Analytics: anonymised website analytics, only with your consent.
- Our website host.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and booking correspondence only as long as we need it to deal with your request and for our reasonable business records, after which we delete it.
Allergy and dietary information you give us with a booking is used only to look after you during that visit, and is automatically deleted 30 days after your visit. It is never kept on your customer record or used for marketing.
Your birthday (day and month only, we never ask for the year) is stored only if you choose to give it when booking with the offers box ticked, or tell us in person. We use it for one thing: a birthday offer by email. It is deleted as soon as you unsubscribe from our emails.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to data portability. To do so, email info@alfarid.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time; the date above shows when it last changed.
